This is a two session day with “cafe bridge” in Oxford’s High (picture top left) and evening bridge at St Hugh’s College.

For the cafe bridge we have seven tables at each of five venues and players play one round at each venue.  In the event that we have more than 140 entries some will play only at The Museum of Modern Art.  Priority will be given to those playing the most days in the festival.

We will advise you of your starting venue in advance by email or at St Hugh’s on Tuesday afternoon.  You should be there by 11.00 to receive instructions from your festival host so that play can start at 11.15.  After each five board round you move to a different venue.  After two rounds play you will be served a two course lunch.  Play is expected to finish at approximately 4.15.  A free tea or coffee is included at the start of the first and fifth rounds.  Results announced during the evening session.

You then have a couple of hours to enjoy the sights of Oxford and perhaps stop at one of Oxford’s cafes, pubs or restaurants on your way to St Hugh’s College’s Maplethorpe Building (picture top right).

The second bridge session of the day will start at 7.15.  Rubber bridge players choose between supervised (expert advice available on request) or unsupervised.  Duplicate players play in sections stratified according to Tuesday’s results.   We aim to complete the bridge session at about 10.15.  Wine and soft drinks can be purchased.

Price for this day - £35 per player.
