Home    FAQs    Festival Booking Form    Programme: Mon Tue Wed Thu

Meet your festival host under Christ Church’s Tom Tower  (picture above left) at 10.00.  He will take you on a guided tour of the college (included in festival entry price) ending at the Blue Boar Lecture Theatre for coffee and biscuits at 10.45.  At 11.00 take a master class with Oxfordshire county players, Kathy Talbot and Diana Nettleton, based on the Monday afternoon hands.  Copies of the hands will be available.

On your way to St Hugh’s on foot (25 mins) or bus (5 mins) stop at one of Oxford’s cafes, pubs or restaurants or pre-order sandwiches to be ready for you on arrival at St Hugh’s where our seminars will start in the Maplethorpe Building (picture above right) at 1.30.

Two seminars will be presented by local experts Robert Procter and Alison Nicolson.  Robert’s “Bridge is a Partnership Game” gives ideas to use with an existing or new partner.  Alison’s “Detective Work in Bridge” will improve your ability to picture your opponents’ hands.

Tea or coffee will be free.  Wine and soft drinks can be purchased.

Bridge starts at 4.15.  Duplicate players play in sections stratified according to Monday’s results.  Rubber bridge players choose between supervised (expert advice available on request) or unsupervised.

We aim to complete the bridge session at about 7.15.  If you would like us to book tables for you and your friends (old and new) for a restaurant in the city we will be happy to do this for you while you play.

Price for this day - £30 per player.
