Various schemes are possible. Some features I find desirable are (i) each match should carry equal weight, (ii) the score should retain a bridge meaning, (iii) the scheme should be easy to explain and to implement.
The method I've used is to double the Butler IMP score and convert to a score out of 20 on the applicable VP scale.
[Thus, your score is what the match result in VP would have been if your results had been matched by the other pair with the same cards as you whilst everyone else produced datum scores.]
This is the same method as last year, except that the underlying Butler datum is now derived from twelve tables in play rather than eight.
| IMP | 0-2 | 3-7 | 8-13 | 14-20 | 21-28 | 29-37 | 38-47 | 48-58 | 59-70 | 71-83 | 84+ |
| VP | 10-10 | 11-9 | 12-8 | 13-7 | 14-6 | 15-5 | 16-4 | 17-3 | 18-2 | 19-1 | 20-0 |
