The Oxfordshire Bridge Association is putting together a plan for the Development of Bridge in Oxfordshire.
We first conducted a survey of the views of Oxfordshire Bridge players. A summary of the survey answers is here and the responses to the open-ended questions are summarised here. Questions 2-7 of the survey were intended primarily for inexperienced players, questions 8-10 for social players, questions 11-15 for competition players and questions 16-23 for advanced players while the remaining questions were intended for all Bridge players.
We then held an open meeting at the end of October 2011 which was attended by 30 OBA members from 13 different Oxfordshire clubs. Alan Wilson presented the results of the survey and Robert Proctor presented a potential vision of the future in the form of an annual report he might be able to deliver in April 2016. We have set up working groups as below.

- Social, led by Barbara Jordan
- Communication, led by Peter Litchfield
- County Night and Competitions, led by John Slater
- Selection & County Team Management, led by Alan Wilson
- Education & Improvers' Development
- Premises, Steering & Finance
Leaders for the Eductaion & Improvers' Development and Premises, Steering & Finance working groups have yet to be appointed.
The groups are working to formulate their own goals for approval by the Management Committee in January 2012.
